Borehamwood Physio Clinic | Pilates

WHAT IS CLINICAL PILATES

Pilates is an exercise based programme that places emphasis on core control, which means strengthening your core muscles. It differs from traditional abdominal and leg strengthening due to its focus on alignment and control. This ensures that the correct muscles are used, resulting in specific toning with each exercise, which helps prevent the body from moving incorrectly.

As a physiotherapist Katy’s expertise is in movement and body analysis and is a Qualified APPI Pilates Instructor.

Clinical Pilates places additional emphasis on this, helping you achieve the best possible strength, conditioning and control for YOU as an individual.

PILATES HELPS TO:

The exercises progress from basic mat work exercises where you focus on coordination, breathing and control, to more complex sequences of dynamic exercises using equipment such as resistance bands and exercise balls. Further information about pilates can be found at www.pilates-in-motion.co.uk
